A prequel to the previously-released two-player co-op game The Watchers, the story for Devour concerns former cult members who must work together to stop their cursed leader Anna Puerta, who is now possessed with the goat demon Azazel, from unleashing an unspeakable evil. Players must burn ritual goats, evade a growing legion of demons, and ultimately hope to break Azazel’s hold over Anna before she becomes too powerful. The Medium

DEVOUR Free Download:

Devour can be played with between 1-4 players, with Straight Back Games claiming that “no two playthroughs are ever the same.” The game is currently enjoying a 15% discount until January 4th, so hurry on in and grab it if you and your friends are up for some fun. DEVOUR is all about escalating difficulty and scream-inducing jump scares. A player’s only means of defense in the darkness is a UV flashlight. AI behaviour, locked doors, and item placement are randomized, making players second guess each and every move. Luckily, they don’t have to face their fears alone with a built-in server browser and positional in-game voice chat. For those surviving DEVOUR without breaking a sweat, a Nightmare mode for the ultimate challenge is available.

Devour sets you in the survival horror role of one to four players who attempt to survive together by exorcising a demon from Anna Puerta. Puerta is the leader of The Watchers of Azazel cult, and has summoned the goat demon Azazel thinking she can control him. But, of course, something goes terribly wrong, and Azazel instead possesses and takes control of her. As former cult members, you and your group must break Azazel’s possession of Puerta, which requires gas, a fire pit, and according to the press release, “enough ritual goats to burn.”
