It failed to “translate” the game’s visually striking elements and certain plot points, particularly the imaginative monsters‘ character designs. I realize that the visual novel makes many references to medical mental disorders in its dialogue, but I felt somewhat “put-off” by this as it was made clear that the players would already be aware of the characters’ circumstances. Overall, the tale is well-done, with strong narrative moments and engrossing music that perfectly captures the setting and tone of each decision a player makes during gaming.
