Lunacid is a first person dungeon crawler inspired by old FROMSOFT games like Shadow Tower and King’s Field. Long ago a great beast arose from the sea and covered the earth in a poison fog. Now those deemed undesirable are thrown into a great well, which has become a pit of chaos and disease. You awaken in a moonlit subterranean world, having been thrown into the Great Well for crimes unknown. The only way out is to go further down and confront the sleeping old one below. On the way there will be many creatures and secrets to discover. Derivative, poorly maintained by an absentee dev that hides on twitter and discord and refuses to interact with paying customers. Game breaking bugs, and an aimless directionless attempt to exploit nostalgia with seemingly no story or attempt to listen to criticism. I’ve played the game a lot (94 hours, not something I take lightly) hoping it would improve- but it hasn’t and I have no faith it will at this point, trust me, save your money. What a let down. Picture this: you’re banished from a post apocalyptic civilization and thrown into a mysterious well, and your mission is simple—find your way out. No hand-holding, no obvious directions, just you and your wits. It’s like a throwback to those old-school dungeon crawlers, infused with a rad lo-fi horror vibe that takes it to epic levels.
