The world of Oaken is a mythical place, existing in a not easily defined space and time. It is stretched among the branches of the Great Oak. Its inhabitants are spirits which listen to the same voice, called the Oak Song. The loss of that voice starts a series of events leading into a struggle which may either heal or destroy the Great Oak. This is a roguelike turn-based strategy game with cards. It is quite familiar in many aspects – and yet somehow strange and unusual in some ways. Even some common gameplay components have unusual names.

You play “The Lady” (a second hero is unlockable) with a Guide (chose 1 of 4 unlockable powerful companions) on a small map with hexagonal tiles. You fight against evil spirits and have to reach certain goals to win a level – and most levels come with special rules. Casting spells, summoning creatures, moving them, and ordering them to attack is the main gameplay loop. Your main unit (The Lady) must not die. You have a deck of cards, which contains creatures and spells. During battles, you draw up to four cards at the beginning of each of your turns and can then play them, as long as you have enough Lumi.
