A former on-again, off-again player of the original browser-based MMO(ish)RPG Kingdom of Loathing, I enjoyed the single player spin-off RPG West of Loathing, and found it an agreeable experience with serviceable gameplay functioning as a bedrock for the true experience of the game: the writing. Well, with my first playthrough of Shadows Over Loathing clocking in at 21 hours, I can say with confidence that it’s a worthy follow-up. It features the same degree of wit and absurdist humor as its predecessor.
