The World of Others is not a good game. It is hardly polished enough to constitute a game at all just yet, and I’m frankly shocked this title is not listed as Early-Access! Developer Stefan Kiel tells me he employed custom assets as well as out-of-the-box ones, so I will not call this an asset flip, but it gives off exactly that vibe. Unreal Engine is put through its paces making the whopping 16 gigabytes of game look beautiful even on low settings, but that is by far the nicest thing about the game. Animations are alright. The sound design does not stand out, which is disappointing for a game made by a audio engineer. FAST FOOD MANAGER

But the game is riddled with bugs and its design falls far short of acceptable. The collision detection is atrocious and the hit boxes are all over the place, making the mandatory jumping puzzles pure torture. The car drives slower than your character walks, so it might as well not be in the game. The levels are meant to be linear, but the open map design means you constantly get lost, until you either hit an invisible wall or fall through the map. And the difficulty balancing blows every other complaint out of the water: the first four or five levels contain hardly any challenge, as every enemy dies in a few hits, and ammo and medical supplies wait around every corner.
